This is a decent server processor for single socket servers. As of 2016, it is not the newest processor by any means as it does not include the newer AES-NI feature sets, but it provides excellent processing power for light server work loads. Best upgrade budget wise that I have made
Replaced my old i5-760 that I had clocked to 3.7GHz(it could go no further) with this Xeon X3450. I´ve got it clocked at 4GHz and easily running everything that I need to do my daily tasks. New life for an old board
I have an old Gigabyte motherboard that has been the most reliable board ever. I needed to run ECC RAM for a ZFS build and this CPU did the trick.
