Disappointment at every turn!
I guess I should have taken into consideration the year it was made but, even so, I found it lacking in the basics - good characters - engaging dialogue - stellar plot. More recent depictions of Holmes and Watson, and those of the 1940's, have done a much better job of giving more engaging performances.
