The Beltronics branded Pro Series GX65 radar and laser detector delivers long-range warning on all radar bands including X, K, Superwide Ka, Ku and instant-on POP. The device is manufactured by Escort, Inc., founded in 1978 and based in West Chester, Ohio, with a manufacturing facility in Mississauga, Canada. The radar and laser detector won a 2009 Consumer Electronics Show Innovations Award for excellence in design and engineering in the Vehicle Accessories category. This innovation is seen with the detector’s built-in GPS technology that allows you to eliminate false alerts. With the technology, you have the ability to mark known false alert locations, such as microwave towers and automatic door openers, by indexing the specific signal frequency and exact location. Once indexed, the Pro GX65 is able to reject that false alert source so there is no alert. Escort’s detector is also designed to protect you from the growing threat of speed and red light cameras that are being installed across the country. The Pro GX65 comes preloaded with the North American red light and fixed position speed camera database. This database, combined with the device’s GPS knowledge, warns drivers of approaching traffic and ticketing threats. The database can be easily updated via the Beltronics’ website so it always remains current. The windshield-mounted radar and laser detector has an extra-bright alphanumeric display with 280 LEDs. The device is ready to use when you take it out of the box, just plug it in and turn it on. However, easy-to-use programming allows you to customize up to 8 features. The detector has three sensitivity modes including Highway, AutoScan or AutoNoX. The AutoScan mode, recommended for most driving, provides real-time radar performance based on your vehicle speed. Highway mode provides maximum sensitivity on all bands while AutoNoX is the same as AutoScan mode with X-band turned off. Threat Display tracks multiple radar signals and their relative signal strength while Tech Display provides actual numeric frequency for any radar signal. SpeedCheck provides an instant view of your vehicle’s speed during an alert, and SmartPlug provides easy access to the Mute and AlertLock features. You can customize which bands are monitored with selectable radar and laser bands, and you can customize which Markers are monitored with selectable markers. The Pro Series GX65 radar and laser detector can be used in conjunction with the Laser ShifterPro for the ultimate in laser protection. Laser ShifterPro employs a laser-based "shifting" transceiver to provide protection against targeting laser guns. The receiver constantly scans for targeting laser guns and once a threat is detected, the device confuses the targeting laser gun within milliseconds, allowing you to check and adjust your speed as needed. The ShifterPro software is upgradable using exclusive Shifter Tools. Beltronics offers detector accessories including coiled and straight cords, radar detector travel accessories, radar mounting accessories, and software and subscription accessories. Beltronics offers a 1-year warranty against all defects in materials and workmanship. During this time, Escort will either repair or replace your device free of charge.Product Identifiers

A review of a recently purchased Beltronics GX65 that replaced a damaged 6 year-old Beltronics GX65
I'm satisfied with my recently purchases BEL GX65. The range of operation is fine. It's relatively easy to use and it seems to perform well. My new device has been operational for 2 1/2 weeks. I worked closely with Beltronics Service Representatives (now handled by ESCORT) to adjust the Serial Number of record for my purchase as the literature and the Serial Number Tag did not match-up with the Beltronics GPS Update Software. This problem seemed to be resolved in about 2 hours. Two weeks of updates ran without interruption. Today I received an Update Software message that my subscription update authority could not be verified. I again contacted Beltronics (ESCORT) Customer Service and this problem was seemingly corrected (after 1 1/2 hours) by uninstalling and reinstalling Beltronices GPS Update Software on my two computers. Things seem to be "OK" at this time even though my new device has not displayed or sounded an alert when approaching known and visible Speed and Red Light Cameras. Perhaps these devices have been disabled and software updates do not provide a warning (if, in fact) these devices are disabled.
