Tried and true real-time strategy gameplay is injected with classic role-playing elements in Phantagram's Kingdom Under Fire. The player directs his forces in familiar concerns like resource management and unit production, but the game's storyline develops around one of seven heroes chosen to lead the player's faction through the battles. Each hero has his own background and his own perspective on the great war between the forces of light and dark that ravages the land. Heroes gain experience and become more powerful with each successful battle.<br><br>The plot develops as players move through the campaign, first directing an allied force and then the battalions of each individual hero in turn. The different storylines for each main hero character overlap and intertwine, gradually giving the player a deeper sense of the game's overall legend. The rival sides of light and dark are quite different from one another, each offering its own unique strengths and challenges. The game features 20 missions for each race. Battles take place in one of six different background schemes, featuring moving shadows and modulated light effects. There are over 70 different characters in all. Mutliplayer options support up to eight players and feature a few different modes of play.Product Identifiers
