  • The Stars Were Right. Now everything is Wrong

With the exception of the first story in this collection, the book is full of well wrought stories describing the lives and demise of survivors after the Old Ones returned. Some active, some melancholy, one (the last story) hopeful, the stories only have the Return in common: how the various scenarios play out and how the world at large is effected is different in each. I only single out the first story in that it feels like it was written for clickbait shock value at one point. The beauty of well written psychological or body horror is IMO what's _not_ said, rather than trying to explicitly shock/titillate. Great resource for RPG seeds and the survivor perspective in Mythos horror.
