Processor works as expected
I purchased this processor to upgrade an HP ProLiant DL380 G5 and give it dual processors. Had to upgrade the System BIOS before the G5 would accept the processor, but other than that everything seems fine. I didn't care for the quality of the heat-sink compound (had separated) but I had some high quality ceramic based compound so used that instead. Good value, everything ok
I'm using E5430 on my lga775 P5QL-CM mobo. There were no need to modify socket and I only updated bios to the latest version. On my motherboard I can overclock it only to 2,83GHz but this isn't a big issue. I am happy with small oc. All in all this processor performs pretty well.
