Created by Ted Wilde, the British detective series SERGEANT CORK was set during the Victorian era. The title character, played by John Barrie, was a foresighted Scotland Yard gumshoe who delighted in using the "newest" forensic techniques to solve crimes. Naturally, Sgt. Cork fought an uphill battle with his superiors, notably the dour Superintendent Rodway (Charles Morgan). Telecast by ATV, SERGEANT CORK was shown from 1963 to 1968, producing 65 50-minute episodes during that time span.

Sergeant Cork a timeless classic
I have to say I have thoroughly enjoyed sergeant Cork series 1 and I am in the process of watching the other 5 series of the show. Made in the 60's and features well known actors in their early days. John Barrie and William Gaunt make a great team of sergeant Cork and detective constable Marriott solving crimes together. Highly recommended especially if you like Sherlock Holmes.
