Nice system, too bad about the plastic parts
First off, let me say this thing works great. My first project with it was to build a stool frame. From a couple pieces of 8-ft 2x2 boards, I was able to build up the stool frame in less than an hour, using just this jig, a miter box, and my cordless drill. I don't think I could have built it that fast if I had a cnc machine making tenon/mortise joints! Now the bad: I don't think it will last long. Everything except the lining of the drill guide holes is plastic, and I did see some small blue plastic bits come out with the drill shavings. The edge guide is soft and flimsy plastic, and I am quite sure it won't last long before the fingers break off or the size adjustment tabs break. It is cheap enough to replace when that might happen, but I have to wonder why they didn't make some of the more structurally important parts out of aluminum instead of plastic. I would buy it again, but if I come across something this versatile and easy to use which is made from stronger materials, I will buy that one instead next time.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

New World
This thing opened up a whole new woodworking world for me. I had no idea I could make something that I would be proud of. This jig helped me do that on my very first attempt. People who thought I had no clue were surprised when I showed them my first project. "This is really good." And I wanted to add what must have been on their minds... "For you", but I let it slide. I love how sturdy it makes everything. The screws are designed perfectly and the pieces are held tightly in place. I didn't think I would need the clamps made for this, but now I see how much more fun it can be to be able to move to the next hole in a matter of seconds. I love this thing. Fantastic addition to my toolbox!
I used it for the the first time to replace some cross members of bracings on a large garden arbor. The clear indicators for measurement settings made the set up fast and easy. It did the job very well. I am impressed on how well this jig works right out of the box. The mechanism is so intuitive in design that you only need minutes before the work begins and the drill is spinning. I did not buy the Kreg clamp yet, but it is next on my list. Great little jig.
This thing is pretty awesome. It's easy to use and is a great addition to my shop. I do need to buy a few quick release clamps to use with it, but the f-clamps I have work fine. They just make it take longer to move the jig.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Excellent tool

Could be awesome if only....
My 1st time using pocket holes & the R3 & I must say it's easy and really good... With that said, I'm not sure if it's just me but after making around 20 drills into the jig, I noticed that the underside plastic part that enters the hole has begun to show signs of wear & Although this may not affect the performance much for now, it would be really great if the whole jig be made of metallic material... Good to have on hand in the shop...
Gets you through the task. Puts pocket holes where you need them. I used glue and screws and was glad when one of the screws was overtightened and stripped out. Check the torque on your power drill. Tone it down if you need to. My last project was made of pine. Am planning to use this to build some birch plywood speaker cabinets. Awesome Tool
