finally broke my OLD chan tool...
i'd had an old school chain breaker since 1968... it finally broke a month ago... sigh... i had bought three different, NEw chain tools over the last year or so... one broke in less than 4 usages... one was so poorly made, it just didn't work, and kept bending the plates... and one broke THE FIRST TIME i used it (Bike Hand, with bells and whistles. Yes, i adjusted the stops as required)... the park tool ct-5 has worked well four times so far, and seems to do the job it is designed to do... pins are available as replacement parts, which is good, that pin seems kinda long, and may be an issue in the future... Park DOES warranty things most of the time, so that is a plus, too. I've had one of their wrenches SNAP once, and they sent me a new one with no hassle.... Cost was very reasonable, since i'd paid about the same amount for that 1968 chain tool!

Excellent chain breaker
This worked perfectly. This is a sturdy tool and easy to use. I’ve worked on my vehicles, motorcycles, atv’s, bicycles, etc..and this too was quite simple to use. The instructions that come with the tool were helpful. I haven’t taken links out of a bicycle chain before and this tool and instructions made it a breeze. I would definitely purchase this again and would recommend it.

Used item; good as new..
This is a great light weight tool, to always have on the road or trail. Even a relative new chain can unexpectedly fail under the a powerful rider pedaling forces or a miss-shift experience entangling chain into failure. It may require a little more hand strength to use than a full-size shop chain tool, but in an emergency in the boondocks it can save a long walk home. Be sure to always have a spare link of two of chain and a spare master link on hand. But if you only lose a link or two, simply reconnect chain and be cognizant that you may not be able to shift onto some of the larger rear cogs until a replacement chain of correct length is installed.

when only the best can do
Tired of those Chinese/Malaysia/Hong Kong, in one all knock off cheap copies, having always the knowledge of Park tool brand, and when supposedly save money, just to discover that always get me down in a real emergency, lesson learned, this tool have the real strong body and perfect measurement for my chain, advice: if you are regular biker is better to get real shop grade tool, it is a good/smart investment.

Great tool for the $$$
I love it! And it Worked great! I’ve used some no name ones that just didn’t cut it! This was simple and straightforward to use! And the best part if the pin breaks or wears out it’s replaceable. And it’s very cost affected. Buy it it’s worth it.

Good but not my go-to chain breaker for 5-8 speed chains.
Good: Second shelf to loosen and precisely position rivet pin after pressing pin into place. Not as good: The second shelf very thin compared to older Park and Cyclo chain breakers but may be necessary for very narrow modern chains. Hopefully, the metal is stronger to make up for the thinness. Have not tried it yet. Design of actual tool inside package clearly downgraded from diagram of tool on back of package, but still useable. May not be as comfortable to use nor as durable as diagrammed model.

the mini brute
im writing this because ebay asked me to, but the truth is this is a great chain breaking tool. I use it in my shop because I like having good control. This tool helps me avoid pushing the pins out too far

Gotta have this...
This chain breaker is the bomb. Took off old chain and sized/installed new gold chain in minutes! Simple to use and fits in your pocket. Good job park tools!

Park CT5 chain breaker
I have always purchased Park Tools for bike repair and have never been let down. They are the Snap-on for bucycles. This chain breaker is a perfect size for a bag and very high quality. I definitely would recommend and purchase again.
