This is the funniest, most intelligently written & heartwarming TV show you may ever watch
It is the warmest, smartest, funniest and sweetest show you will ever watch. The characters are engaging and realistic and they give us a counterpoint we can consider to today's life and attitudes. We will benefit from watching this and keeping these DVD's in our home library to see how our own life choices might be made more sensibly by looking to how Donna, Alex and the family Stone did things 60 years ago. I am amazed at how smart and nice they were back then. And if you only want entertainment, this meets or beats anything on TV today by a mile! I am always surprised when a TV show is so heartwarming that it brings me to tears, and to do so without appearing to be emotionally manipulative or preachy! The conclusion of almost every episode has me reaching for the box of Kleenex and unashamedly so. The Donna Reed Show should be added to some current TV network and promoted like crazy because anyone who watches one episode will probably return to watch yet another and another. And if enough people were to become fans of this intelligently written and fun show, maybe our thought processes and attitudes and values might be positively influenced along the way. I have given these DVD's as gifts and I look forward to viewing all the episodes from the 2nd Season and each subsequent season of the show. I can't praise these shows enough.
