  • YA Entertainment production of FULL HOUSE, Korean Drama at it's finest!

Ok it's a bit of a stretch early one for a brief moment (no spoilers here). This is a wonderful drama. It even sparked a sequel. Sequels are rare in the korean drama world. Korean drama's are unique. Nothing quite like them exist in america. To me they are from 4 (rare) to 16 (common) to 24 or 36 (common) to 90 hours (rare) plus movies. They grab you quickly and will not let go. a "movie" of 16 + hours can develop characters, and usually do so in more time than a typical western movie lasts. After watching a kdrama or two, then watching a western movie, you might pause think and wonder what just happened. **** Mild spoiler below, just a mild overview of the drama. ***** Full House is about a lady who is tricked into going on a vacation, during which her "friends" sell her house to a lonely celeb. On returning she finds it was legal and she's homeless. So she shares the house temporarily till she finds a place to live. (this was the part that was a bit of a stretch to me someone selling your house???). Mean while the two leads go from hostile to falling in love. This really is a wonderful story. If you have never seen a Kdrama and it seems to be too much time to invest, try watching a Korean movie. Thats what got me started. I was blown away at the quality in acting, writing and production. it was in no way inferior to the best that comes out of Hollywood. And if the movie was THAT GOOD (i watched 3 indie winners), then i wondered how good the best would be. So i googled "best korean movie" and it came up with a 54 hour epic Kdrama "the jewel in the palace". whaaa??? so i watched it.. and now i'm a huge addicted to kdrama fan. It is very different to western tv. There is no violence, no sex, no profanity, or very very little of it. It does not need those things.. it reaches out and grabs you will the story, It makes you identify with the actors, it submerges you in a wild ride that just does not exist in western television/media. THE ONLY drawback, is subtitles. Good news tho is after watching a few hours, I, at least, tend to not even notice the subtitles It's like i watch the movie and hear english in my head. If you take a chance and watch a K-Drama such as FULL HOUSE, you just might open up a wonderful world you never knew existed. just like i did.
