"Clean"
Yhis is my third compact sub woofer. The first, an Infinity model, fried in a house lightning strike! I looked for another, but they are out of production. My second a Jenson model was just plain "muddy." The bass response seemed to be a continuous blend of tones, with no definition. This Yamaha is excellent for the size and value. The bass notes are clear, the response is almost crisp on bass drum beats, just like live. Front firing, not bottom firing. This is a good inexpensive unit for a passive subwoofer with sattelite speakers. Has an auto on mode, two position switch for cross-over, plus volume. Power to Kick Out Bass Notes in Music, Rumbles and More in Movies.
It kicks out bass to enhance my music, and adds great sound to watching a movies. It's an older model with traditional clip-in speaker connectors.
