The JBL L890 speaker L series has four-way, dual 8-inch speakers with a subwoofer. The midrange driver has a 4-inch PolyPlas cone with rubber surround and cast-aluminum chassis. The woofer driver has dual 8-inch PolyPlas cones with rubber surrounds and cast-aluminum chassis. The bass is reproduced effortlessly and has maximum impact.There are numerous mounting possibilities. The product has a high-end finish, and a pair of speakers is sold as a single item. The L890 amplifiers in the speakers have FreeFlow port technology, which gives you the lowest amount of distortion. These floorstanding loudspeakers disperse all noise evenly thanks to the aluminum waveguides. Also, straight-line signal path networks ensure the signal from the five-way binding posts all the way through to the transducers. If you're focused on music or video entertainment, these JBL Studio L890's are fantastic! Great definition, tight strong bass, Amp high 110-130 WPC...
The title says most of what these speakers are about... Although, It's worth mentioning that you will want to drive them with a high powered Amp. at least 100 WPC I'm using an old school Pioneer Elite with 130 WPC @ 8 Ohms. You can and probably will do damage to them with a less than superior Amp. cause they are higher end, therefore demand higher wattage to drive them properly. Once they have been placed properly, about 2-4 feet from the wall, (Two walls are better, like a corner wall) depending on your particular home floor plan, to bring out the bass as well as the highs, which are spectacular with the additional "Super Tweeter"!... Really nothing too serious to say about them; other than, They're High Power front/main speakers, excellent build quality, looks really sharp in the overall home A/V Hi-Fi system decor, excellent highs, mids and really good bass (for 2, 8" inch woofers) the price is comparable to Polk, Klipsch, Yamaha and did I mention they are JBL's, the name is still (dating myself here) after 20-30 years synonymous with excellence in both quality and sound reproduction... Long sold out and finally mine.
