One would think anything made for Elmers would be good quality...
I bought this X-Acto Buzz pencil sharpener...just a new personal trend of buying battery operated gadgets...but this was a horrible let down.
The pencil sharpener takes a lot of juice, but that doesn't surprise me. It is grinding wood.
The thing that surprised me is that it chews up pencils and never really gives you a point because it consistently breaks the lead before it gets to that point.
Now, I bought my husband a manual X-Acto KS for Christmas, so I went to his pencil sharpener with the same pencil and no problems whatsoever. So, it is the sharpener, not the pencil.
X-Acto really missed the boat with this one.
OH, and one other thing. The door/lid for the battery compartment has little prong type contacts for the batteries. They flex as the lid is jammed down on the batteries. Trying to get the lid on (sliding it) without snagging those, getting the lid to smoothly close while holding it down at the same time, is aggravating and I imagine those little contacts will probably break off in a short while.
I'll stick with old fashioned schoolhouse pencil sharpeners. At least they don't EAT your pencils!
