it is quiet. only have used for a week, this is a different model than the one i got 10 years ago, with my old one i could smell the ionizer nice smell, this i can smell anything, so not sure how well it is working!

Another great Sharper Image product
I am pleased with the car air cleaner, it does a good job, unless I open the windows and it can't keep up. It does catch up quickly when it only has to deal with recirculating air.
