Old School Speakers A Good Value
I really like these speakers because they seem more "old school." In other words, they are well-constructed and the sound doesn't sound cheap, like it does on other speakers. Logitech X-140 Good Value
The X-140 Logitech might be the best value in a small powered speaker set to be found. Keeping in mind you can pick up a pair on bid sites for around $20, you are getting nice build quality, power, and sound for the investment. Metal speaker grills, tone control, tweeter and woofer design, it's all there. My second set, this pair is hooked up to a record player, and added a lot more punch to the sound projected. I would recommend these as a good value.
