Almost a great MCE replacement for HTPC
I bought 3 of these for use with harmony remotes on HTPC installations.
These appear to be well made and were easily recognized by Win7 and Win10.
While they worked with an original RC6 MCE remote, they did not work on two installations with Harmony or the Smart Hub IR systems. The Hamony db's have 2 devices with windows mappings listed variously as Media Center PC (MCE KB, Flirc, Ortek...) and WMC SE (with an extended mapping set.) The stanard MCE devices would actuate the receivers' LED, but did nothing else. Ironically the extended mapping worked fine. I swapped out these with each other and an original MCE IR receiver, ran Showkey.exe (displays the instruction mapped to IR signal) and confirmed that the problem was this device.Unfortunately the advanced device has a few essential keys only accessible with the standard one, e.g. Esc, PgUp, PgDn.
If paired only with the original MCE Remote, however, it would appear to be fine.
