Miracle stuff!!
I purchased this product for a seven year old small mixed breed dog, Molly. She has been diagnosed with kidney failure and has the blood tests that bear out that diagnosis. Molly was very lethargic, not eating because of the nausea that the build-up of uremia was causing, BAD breath, all of the symptoms. The vet was sympathetic, advised some costly meds and food and basically said "we are here when she needs to be put down". I did some reading but couldn't find anything that was good news. After a tearful weekend my girlfriend and I decided Molly would be put down on Tuesday, she had not ate in 3 days and was being lifted into our bed that she normally jumped into. On Tuesday she woke up and her tail was wagging, she looked better than she had for two weeks. I took her for a walk, she was actually trotting a bit. I decided to hold off and on a whim ran a search on phosphorus blockers. This showed up, (Epakitin); I told Molly to hang on for 4 more days and we would give this a shot. Also read about Azodyl being used in conjunction. 3 weeks later it is as if I have a Molly from years ago. 2 meals a day, fixed by me that include both of the meds. The dog actually SPRINTS when we take walks although she is still lethargic. She is a pickier eater but in my opinion this is miracle stuff. I was within an hour of putting her down....Now I expect to get much more time together. It will not cure the KD but it can seriously slow it down! GREAT PRODUCT BUT SHOULD BE VET RECOMMENDED
For my cat, this has been a miracle product giving me extra years of borrowed time with a much loved pet with failing kidneys. I feel a little funny actually writing a review for this product as I consider it a type of prescription medicine? But I am very glad that my Vet knew this product and believes in it for pets like mine. Great product, results, cost
This has been extremely effective in reducing the phosphorus blood level for my older cat. In addition, it's 1/3 the cost when I buy at the vet's. Life saver
This product has greatly improved my 22yr old Siamese cat’s life!!! I adopted him 4 yrs ago from Rescue and he is my baby… This stuff is great for all senior cats my vet told me as it seems that it’s inevitable that they end up with kidney disease.
