After long arduous days of the relative ease of GT3, GT4 has something different to offer. The new courses and cars are great. It's interesting to watch certain Gran Prix's on TV and recognize how well the real courses are depicted in this game... way more so than in GT3. The driving takes a little getting used to, but is fun when you get the hang of it. The cars lean alot on the corners and pitch when slowing or accelerating... which is cool! I appreciate the realness that this game tries to deliver as far as driving feel, but I enjoyed GT3 for it's pure video-game-ness. I continue to play both, because I find both so different. If you were good at GT3, you may not be at GT4 and might just get frustrated with it because the car handling is so different (which is why my roommate won't play it). My only complaint about GT4 is that the displays for modifying components on your cars are complicated and not laid out well... but again, once you get used to it, it's ok. This is a good racing simulator game. If you're a video game racer, you should own this game. If you are looking to buy a car racing game for someone, this would be an ok choice if they already have GT3 or any of the Need For Speed games. But again, it's different, more slower paced and technically oriented than other racing games, just as GT3 is.Vollständige Rezension lesen
Love this game my only issiue is that it looks better on 480P then it does on 1080i, weird right? But yeah, I have the official PlayStation 3 component cables that work with both the ps2 and ps3 and have been enjoying other games in 480P. Other then that, the game play is awesome! On this game pushing the Triangle and X button at the same time to activate the progressive scan is not necessary as you can change that in the picture settings within the game.

Once again, the Gran Turismo series delivers with GT4. The graphics are smoother than ever. With a large enough TV screen, you may even experience the physical effects of motion! Some of the positive points: - A vast selection of cars to choose from - More modifications than before, including a rear wing on most models - More tracks with far more variety - Ability to transfer some of your licenses and credits from GT3 Some of the negative points: - You still can't custom paint the cars - If you custom mod your car through an aftermarket shop, the finished car doesn't really reflect it. No graphics, names, or noticeable handling differences to set it apart from getting upgrades at the dealership - A lot of really worthless concept and antique vehicles were introduced. My less-than-humble opinion is that the energy spent on these should have been spent in the above to items instead Overall this is a very tight game. Apart from needing a breath of fresh life in a few spots, it's an otherwise very fun game that will provide hours of entertainment. Now to get my hands on that Logitech wheel and pedal setup...Vollständige Rezension lesen
Challenging races, interesting sound track except the dang Opera at the opening clip. Cars are realistic even for older graphics, driving is challenging yet realistic, the turning is a little jerky for a real car though and not fluid like newer games. Plenty of cars to choose from. No sim damage but no big loss there.

Great game, physics are not realistic enough, crashes are awful, cars just bounce off each other. This is a great arcade style game, but for a simulator, I would not recommend it. Forza Motorsport for XBOX is a much better game. GranTurismo has been a favorite racing game for many years, Though GT4 lacks the real feel. Except for a much better car selection in GT4, I would actually prefer GT3, GT2 was a great PS1 game and the physics were good for that era. GT4 did not live up to my expectations of the GranTurismo legacy.
