If you're a fan of musicals, you'll love this one.
I hadn't seen this movie since it first hit the theaters back in the early 80s. I decided to buy the DVD, and I'm really glad I did. I'd forgotten what a truly delightful movie this was! All the cast did a great job, but Aileen Quinn as Annie was wonderful, and Carol Burnett as Miss Hannigan was a scream. It's worth watching the movie, just to see her! The Sunday Comics Come Alive With Annie -
This is a movie I never thought about watching, and I should have. It was very good, the songs were the type that you sing in your mind the next day, the characters were "entertaining", even Tim Curry - who I consider just plain nasty - and Bernadette Peters, who can really belt out a song were wonderful. Great screen adaptation of ANNIE
I have loved ANNIE since I saw the original production on Broadway in 1977. This film adaptation is a superb collector's item, encompassing the passion, the poignancy, comedy, gorgeous music, kids and Sandy, and to top it off, the incomparable Carol Burnett.
