Good product!
It is very robust even when you do not go for the optional screw in feature but just rely on being able to tighten against the newel post at the top of the stairs. Only thing I would suggest is that they make clear in the fitting instructions that a spirit level is essential to fitting it correctly such that everything works as it should when installed. The video insturctions were very good (a picture tells a thousand words). My grandson who will shortly be 2 years old and is very robust was unable to get it open so it passed the stiffest of tests!

Extra height
We purchased this with extra height because we couldn't put one on the top stair and didn't want the baby to be able to launch himself over the top of a standard height gate. This means he can climb down 1 stair in safety but we are confidant he cannot fall over the top. A great product and would highly recommend.
