good, well written history of pueblowan peoples of the Southwest
This history lesson was written by Southwest archeologist Stephen Plog. It’s well written and quite free of archeological jJRgon. It begins with the early hunter gatherers who migrated here from Asia and ends with the Spanish who first described the native peoples living there when they arrived. It’s profusely illustrated, and very easy reading. Highly recommend to any history buff. I bought it to read before visiting the southwest this fall. Plog writes very well, and talks about the Anasazi, Mogollon, Hohokam, amo g other cultures that flourished in Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado before the arrival of Europeans.
