Buy another product
The system worked for about 2 weeks. During this time I was surprised to find out that the sound quality was very poor. My cellphone played sounds with better quality than the sleep system. The interactive option did operate well and when surrounding noises increased it increased the volume. Unfortunately after only about 2 weeks it totally stopped working. When I tried to turn it on the "on" light kept blinking but it wouldn't work. I opened the manual and tried everything they suggested (including the reset option). Nothing worked. Finally I had to put it in the trash. For such a high cost system it was highly disappointing. The only good think about the system was the box it came in. Very good, but treble frequencies are not emphasized enough
This is a great machine to help one sleep. The only criticism I have of it is that it's speaker does not project enough of the treble frequencies. It basically emphasizes just the bass and midrange frequencies. If you attach a headset or earphones to the machine, you can hear the high frequencies very well. But you cannot hear them at all well with the built in speaker. They should eliminate some of the sounds that are probably not used often (the "meditation" one [I practice TM, and I don't need or want any drone sound for my meditations], the fireplace, and maybe one other). Then they should add a simple knob for increasing treble sounds when using the speaker, and they could do the same for the bass frequencies. Replaced three cheaper sound machines
I have difficulty staying asleep and cannot sleep in a too-quiet room as the slightest sudden noise wakes me up. Of my three cheap machines, one stopped working, one has issues with the volume knob, and the sound quality and volume aren't adequate by themselves. This replaced all three and has a superior speaker and the ability to customize the wide variety of sounds it offers. It's built solidly, unlike so many that seem almost disposable, doesn't take up a lot of space, and is much better at blocking out intrusive noise. If you don't mind spending a few bucks I guess I would rate that as my number one recommendation. I think it is anyway.
Definitely work great. Doesn't repeat that I can tell so you won't find yourself not sleeping over wait to hear a pattern. That's the best way I can word it anyway. Sound is great. But you pay for what you get. If your a sound geek I wouldn't settle for any less. Even if your not trying to sleep it's kinda cool just to listen to. My cats seem to be pretty interested in it. Great white noise machine!
This is another item where the only issue I have is why I did not purchase it long ago! I live in a studio apt and the walls are paper thin and late night or early morning I can hear conversations in the place next door and well, ahem, 'other' late night noise making. Not only does this block out the noise it keeps my activity low key as I am NOT a good sleeper and sleep 4-5 hours a night. If it had a remote it would be perfect since I keep this next to shared wall. I also like the variety of sound and timer and the compact appearance. Hopefully it lasts a fair amount of time, but undoubtedly I would replace if it did stop working. It must be known my favorite Saturday morning is now having this machine on 'brook' while I play my ambient music--simply does not get any more relaxing and therapeutic.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Great product... PRICE IS RATHER HIGH
This is one of the better sound machines and if want to have a variety of selections and sound, this is a great one as they are natural sounds. I only bought this for the retail price as I had some credit so I only paid about $70 which is what it should be priced at. My wife loves it because it does drown out motorcycle and lawn mower sounds. We would recommend this to others as the best choice. It does not seem to be built strong as it is plastic and has cheap buttons, but once you set it up you should not have to change the settings again for awhile.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

The Gold Standard
I read quite a few reviews before I purchased one of these "noise" machines. This was BY FAR the most expensive. But, I think it is probably heads above the rest. Many reviews for other machines said that the "loop" is quite noticeable. (The point where it starts over.) I have actually tried to find the beginning and end on the Ecotones Sound and can't! This is important to me because I am OCD enough that it would drive me nuts! I also like the enhancement button whereby you can add little sounds to those provided. A good feature. I have a bad case of tinnitus so I purchased this machine to help me not be so aware of the ringing in my ears when I am trying to go to sleep. It works! I prefer the RAIN and OCEAN sounds. A couple of the other sounds make me nutty, but I'm sure this is the case for most people. The reason there are so many sounds to choose from is so you can find what works for you. Awaiting replacement part
I bought a used one at half the cost of a brand new one. Unfortunately, it has a static-y electrical sound that interrupts every single setting, making it useless. However, I immediately emailed the company about it, & they said they are sending me a replacement SD card with instructions for how to install it. Good machine
First tried this machine at a hotel in Wash DC and loved it. Purchased one just like it. Love that it has so many sounds and you can control richness, and it's adaptive. Sleep much better WITH it than without it!
This item was not new, but it looked like new when it arrived and it certainly works like new! I shuffled through the various settings and settled on my favorite, which is the train sound. I adjusted the sound richness to max and I sleep longer and more deeply. I bought it because I have tinnitus and sometimes those non-existent sounds can keep me from falling asleep or even wake me during the night. The train sound is great for me because I like a rhythmic, somewhat monotonous sound without a lot of changes in pitch and this does the trick! Additionally, there is no perceptible looping; it is truly a continuous sound with the slight alterations that one would expect when actually riding a train; you can hear the sound change when the train encounters a crossing and then the sound reverts to previous when the train passes the crossing. The device keeps your settings until you change them; turning it off does not reset it to some sort of default setting, which is great because I don't want to reset something on a daily basis ;) I fall asleep quickly now and wake up more refreshed than I have in quite a long while.
