EKX 18SP
I carried around a pair of the ELX 18's for years because I'd rather use a cheap pair of subs than speaker stands. It was finally time to add a little thump to the mix though. I was a club dj for 18 yrs and started my own mobile business in 2007. I do about 35 - 40 events and maybe a dozen club gigs a year. The EKX 18SP's will give you great coverage no matter what your venue. So far I have used them about 10xs over the last few months and they sound great. Good punch that can be felt in front of the speaker. Not behind it like the ELX series. I recently caught a popular local rock band that performs for 1000's of people and they were using the ETX line. Speaking with their sound man, he agreed that the difference in sound between the two is minimal compared to the price but they felt they needed the extra ruggedness and base wheels of the ETX series.
