Classic recording!
I’ve been looking out for a digital recording of this (original 1968) version of Switched on Bach for years. It arrived looking brand new and in a cellophane wrapper! Ecstatic to be the proud owner of a copy at last. There’s something about the original Moog synthesiser recording that sets it apart and above, more updated versions played on modern equipment. This equipment was after all the grandfather of the 1970’s/80’s synthesised music, and as the CD states, “Wendy Carlos is the original synth”! Fascinating section at the end of the tracks where Carlos gives us a taste of some early experimental versions of a few of the tracks listed.

Bach a-la Moog
Classic album by Walter (now Wendy) Carlos, which opened up the rock market to the sound of the Moog in 1968. This is where the rage of synthesizers started. All fans of electronica should be grateful to Carlos! Excellent digital version.
