This is exactly what you would expect from something made to last it still works perfectly.
Second hand this is perfect for what I wanted it for, it is solidly built. I had tried buying a brand new one from Bush and took 2 of them back in the end they were both faulty and flimsy . I have to say after giving a clean up it is perfect I’ve paid just as much as I would have for a Bush brand new one because I had to buy the adapter separately. But I have confidence in this product.

Sony TCM-939 Cassette Recorder.
For their size and price these are surprisingly good with good volume and quality of sound and superior to similar Bush models in every respect. They are a tad expensive on Ebay at the moment, but I've picked up used models on our local market for as little as £4 and at this price they are definitely a bargain. I have no quibbles at all about this recorder and although a certain level of noise from the recorder is in evidence when using the internal mike this is obviated by using an external one. The transaction via Ebay on my purchase was satisfactory in every respect.

Happy with item, but one problem...
Was very happy with the tape player, only issue is that the sound didn’t come out unless i adjusted the volume slider at exact certain positions, so i think mine is a little faulty in that area, apart from that I love the model, it’s very easy to use, I think it’s going to last me a long time, hopefully! :)

Lightweight and simple to use.
The Tape Recorder performs to a good standard and will be kept as a spare machine. The mains lead supplied is not the correct one, I have informed the supplier and there has been no reply, which is unfortunate, so I do not expect any answer from them as the advert only contained details of the tape recorder and no mention of supplying a 6volt adapter.

Usual Sony quality
Really good sound lucky to find an unused one easy to use the usual top quality Product from Sony my wife uses it for audio books a great success.

Tried and tested
I have been using this model for many years and bought it for a language student. The product arrived swiftly and is in good condition for a second hand cassette player/recorder. Very pleasing result.

Lightweight, portable and good quality sound both recording and le
Very useful portable recorder/player. Best/clearest sound reproduction is using it with the batteries. Connected to the mains there's a very slight hu on a recording.. However, I am being very musically fussy there. Because they are older machines, very well made but often need the heads given a good cleaning with a Cassette Head Cleaner tape. Overall a super machine which would be very difficult to an equivalent find these days

Good for what I want
The Sony is the old style recorder which both my husband and I like for teaching purposes. It's not the best sound but good enough for our needs and we were happy to find it on Ebay. Thanks.

Good if old fashioned product.
The good thing about the product is that it uses keys and cassette tape so everything is laid out in a linear way running right to left. New recordings are added in a line not 'in the ether.' You can still get cassette tapes and they are long lasting.

Legacy cassette recorder in mint condition
The only table top cassette recorder with a good quality sound and a tape counter. It is a pity that these are no longer made.
