In earlier Sims games, players interact with a household of virtual computer people. In The Sims 3, players interact with an entire neighborhood. Instead of playing each family discretely on its individual lot, players can now take their characters anywhere in town -- to a friend's house, out to a restaurant, to a favorite park, or even to work. No matter which Sim the player is currently following, however, all the characters in the neighborhood are active whenever the game is being played. Events that take place on the other side of town can have an effect on situations all across the neighborhood, just as the player's characters may influence the rest of the community with their actions (or inaction). Sims are now quick to pull out their mobile phones and keep one another informed, even if only about the latest gossip.<br><br>The Create-A-Sim system in the Sims 3 refines the powerful tools featured in the Sims 2. Players have much more finely graduated control over many physical aspects of the characters they create. For example, a slider allows a choice of any size and shape between rail-thin and very overweight, instead of offering only three set body types, and a second slider controls the character's muscularity. To a greater degree than the previous game's character editor, the new tools give players the power to create recognizable Sim versions of people they know (or would like to know). Sims personalities are now determined by up to five distinguishing traits, such as "hot headed," "conversationalist," "clumsy," "great cook," "slob," "good sense of humor," and even "neurotic" or "paranoid." Players can choose from more than 60 available traits when they create each new Sim. <br><br>As in earlier Sims games, players are free to make use of the built-in houses that come with the game, customize them however they see fit (and have the Simoleons to afford), or tear them down completely and build their own from scratch. The build mode offers players more customization as well, with a smaller grid from more precise placements, and the ability to rotate most objects to any angle. Stores, services, and places of work for the game's 12 career paths are all available throughout the neighborhood. Players can't enter these buildings to watch a favorite Sim at work, but they can follow him there, and then back home again when his shift is done.Product Identifiers

GREAT PRODUCT / WORTH IT
Ok so first of all for the price this a a great product.I bought the game for my daughter so she will review it. I haven't played the sims 3 since I was younger so to see that gearandgames had it for less than half the price really caught my attention. The game is very addictive and has many things to do , travel , hang out with friends, garden , and jobs/careers, and MANY MORE. The graphics are not that great but it is realistic. They have alot of clothes / hairstyles to pick through. Since im coming from the sims 4 , you really notice how much of a change there is. Im loving the open world map view , I always questioned why they took that feature out. The sims 3 is a great game and it is worth it. The only bad thing I have to say is that the game crashes sometimes but gearandgames gives you a couple of suggestions if needed. They are also very respectful and nice. A worthy successor to Sims and Sims 2
If you are familiar with Sims-type games, you have an idea what it's like. The download was large, of course, some 16-18 GB of data. There were several download options: Google Drive, OneDrive, and Torrent. Here is a report of issues with this download collection. Minor annoyances (and workarounds) in the installation: the game launcher displays material in Russian on the right, even though the game setup specified English. The Sims 3 Member login in the right section isn't needed to play the game. The game interface bar on the left is actually in English (probably set by the game setup). The Sims 3 Addon loader (which selects which expansion and stuff packs are active) was probably originally run in Russian, because the pop-up boxes are largely unreadable (??? in place of probably Cyrillic text). However, the icons are in the same order as on the Game Launcher, have the same colors, and the Game Launcher icons do have readable English pop-up text. Installed and played perfectly, with no issues, under W10.
Great game!. I played for over an hour, after installing, with no issues whatsoever under W10. One warning (not a complaint) my computer is a few years old. So it took awhile to unzip and install. So, depending on your machine, you should carve out a little time to do that. I did receive one error message. However, I think it was just an intermediary error like you get sometimes from windows and the installer has just not installed the component yet that windows is looking for. Don't hesitate to buy it! Sims 3 is a blast!!
Got the game same day as the day I purchased it. I love The Sims! I play the Sims 1,2 and 4 but never had a chance to play Sims 3 or money when it was released. Now that I'm older I'm so happy to get it for cheap with the full collection. I was hesitant at first to purchase it but I don't regret it. Its safe and installed pretty quickly. I was running the game within an hour of installing it ^___^ The instructions were simple and quick. Would 100% Recommend! If you're reading this review don't hesitate like I did.. Wife is addicted!
Gave it to my wife for Christmas. She is not a very experienced SIMS player except for SIMS Life Stories, which would no longer work on her Windows 8 computer. So far she's putting in a few hours a day playing this and seems to like everything, except she has made two critical remarks: One is that in the options menu, when your Sim is having an interaction that is getting rude, there seems to be no "Attack" option. Second, she is doubtful about the feature where your Sim goes into certain places and you do not have control over the character. That last will probably become clear as play goes on. Highly recommend!
This game was my childhood!! Getting the entire collection for $8 was a dream come true! Everything is there as promised, and you can easily pick and choose what packs you use each time you play.
