Held captive in a cave by soldiers armed to the teeth with weapons of his own design, Tony Stark ponders his fate. Faced with the ugly truth about the world he has helped create, he resolves to turn his genius to other purposes. Stark constructs a high-tech suit of armor and becomes Iron Man, embarking on a quest to ferret out the evil fueled by his creations and salvage his shameful family legacy. Iron Man, a game recently released in conjunction with the feature film, parallels Tony Stark's plight. Iron Man dons the high-tech suit of wide-open game spaces and shiny visual effects and tries to leave the old stigma of movie-based video games behind. Zooming around and blowing up stuff does have its thrills, but that new-suit shine grows dull about halfway through the game as the difficulty spikes drastically while the level design flatlines. After that, there's just no reviving Iron ManVollständige Rezension lesen
First of all, the Iron Man armor is rendered beautifully in-game. The moves, from grappling to projectile attacks, are fun to use.... However, this is where the line is drawn in positive points for this game. I have nothing negative to say about the story, as you can get what you need from the movie and play this to control the armor we love. Game play, while simplistic, has its share of issues. Not being able to get through a squadron of fighter jets, even though you tossed their missiles back to them numerous times, is frustrating. You'd think that the armor could withstand small arms fire and flak from small projectiles, but, sadly, this is not the case. These problems, as well as trying to throw you into timed situations that, honestly, don't translate very well into the gameplay, lead more toward frustration than fun. All in all, the controls are tight, the graphics decent, but the gameplay just doesn't have what it takes. Let's hope the upcoming Incredible Hulk game is the one that nails it for movie tie-in games.Vollständige Rezension lesen
even though this game was really good, there was a lot of flaws in to making this game.first, the game was repetitive. all you do most of the time is battle guns and ships with the same weapons. second, you cant free roam around the city, im mean hes iron man saving the city and you cant even free roam! they also needed to put the original color armor including the gold colored. thats the best one! although there are a lot of things that i really do like. the graphics are incredible (even though your only seeing helicopters). the story pretty much makes sense. the game at least has titanium man in the end, so thats good. also its not in a first person zone, its in the third person. most games like gta 4 has a third person and it got a 10 out of 10. so there you go. so far its one of the best ive seen according to super hero games, but according to other great games this game has a couple of serious flaws!!!Vollständige Rezension lesen
If you like Shell Head you'll enjoy this game -- as an action title on it's own, it doesn't have the perfect gameplay or controls that put it anywhere near games like Modern Warfare 2. But for old time comic book aficionados getting a chance to play a game that isn't awful as one of your favorite childhood super-heroes is a good time. Again, Iron Man fans will enjoy this game as it plays well and is not broken in any major way. Looking forward to Iron Man 2!
This was a really fun game. It's not the all time hall of fame shooter - but I really enjoyed it. The gameplay has a learning curve, but once you get used to the controls and upgrade your equipment it gets really good. There are some really challenging difficulty levels as well. I have played other super hero movie based games in the past and Iron Man is definately the best of those. The dialogue and storyline was kinda corny... but hey - who DOESN'T want to be Iron Man? Guided missiles and catching and throwing fighter jets to the ground? Hulkbuster armor? Yeah - I'm in.
