Although the series was made by Dick Tracy creator Chester Gould, it differs from Gould's dark strip in its light, slapstick tone. Exaggerated characters like Jo Jitsu, Go Go Gomez, and Hemlock Holmes are Tracy's cohorts in fighting the evil figures Flat Top, Mumbles, and Prune Face. The series' sleek, minimal style is nicely representative of the era's animation, and the handsome package make this a welcome addition to any cartoon library.

AWESOME VINTAGE TV
This 1961-62 cartoon series has very little in common with the famous comic strip, so if you are a fan of the comic strip, this cartoon night prove very disappointing, perhaps even insulting. But this show IS A CARTOON MEANT FOR CHILDREN. If you can get past the racism by remembering the white-male power system dominated the world in those days, you'll discover that adults as well as kids will get a kick out of the cleverly written dialogue spoken by characters with voices and personalities based upon those of major movie stars of yesteryear. This isn't surprising, considering the cartoon features some of the greatest voice actors in the business, not to mention a group of writers who would go on to script stories for major cartoon enterprises. In short, this series is a BLAST!!

Nostalgia
Great set for nostalgia! I still find these amusing even 20+ years later, and character stereotypes add to the humor (though I know that's wrong to say these days) worth a buy and this has all 120 episodes. They're only 5 minutes each but that's about how long my attention span for old cartoons is so it works!

Great Memories!
I love these DVDs! Takes me back to my childhood. And some of the characters I totally forgot about. It's like reuniting with old friends!
