Excellent video quality remastering by Criterion films.
The film content, story and characters are a matter of personal taste and one's level of interest in things French. The stories and cinematography are relaxing, thoughtful, introspective, and one can take these almost as documentaries of 1960-1980s Paris, and the social mores of that time. What drew me to this set was the excellent remastering of the original films, only available in this set from Criterion. The standard dvd releases, I believe by Koch Lorber, are abysmal - vhs-quality, and really detract from the pleasure of watching the stories. The Criterion set brings the video quality up to "good", as much as can be done with the original 16mm film stock.

Good quality CDs of rare Rohmer movies;English subtitles
This product was delivered on time and the CDs are of good quality.I wanted to watch movies by one of the most interesting film makers Rohmer since a long time and this product made my dream come true.Thanks a lot. :)

Terrific set of films. Engaging characters and dialogue and a nice book of short stories that are the basis for the films.

Great films!
Eric Rohmer concentrates upon character and dialogue, with humor added, in his films. They are thoughtful and delightful.
