The powerful plot of HOUSE OF STRANGERS has been used in various disguises in other films, including the Western BROKEN LANCE.

Outstanding family drama
This is a really good movie, much better than the remake Broken Arrow. Edward G. Robinson is outstanding as the family patriarch, and we get our first glimpse of Efrem Zimbalist, Jr. as a very young Tony. I would definitely recommend it.
