Better than a common domestic aneroid barometer.
I have made readings over 3 weeks and an m.s.l. pressure range of 1023 - 979 mb. The device has a fairly steady error of 0.5mb above correct value when checked with two adjacent SYNOP reporting stations, a mercury and an aneroid barometer. Allowing for small differences in pressure due to local environmental characteristics I detect two important factors in the use of this device.
1. As mentioned by the manufacturer, there is a 15 minute settling time before reading for best accuracy, particularly in rapidly changing pressure circumstances.
2. There is a hint of hysteresis, ca. 0.2mb. Normally I would not expect this in a solid-state device.
Considering the price of this instrument it performs well and, once you have eliminated the baseline error, values of atmospheric pressure (QFE or QFF) are acceptably accurate.
