Yes you do NEED a score tool for your paper crafting projects
I love this updated Scor Pal because it has score places every 1/8th of an inch for accurate scoring. I resisted getting a scoring tool because I thought 'I can fold paper' but in paper crafting scoring is essential to making a quality project. watch the Youtubes for things you can make with one.

This board of wonder help me deeply with scoring my papers
I have the scanncut machine and I hate to ware out my blade so at times I will cut out card sizes and with this scor-pal eights helps me figure out the trouble of measuring the accurate scoring I have used it and continue to use it for all my cardmaking
