Gauntlet IV is a translation of the arcade classic with two new modes of play: Quest and Battle. Quest mode plays similarly to the arcade version, except your character gains experience points to increase their abilites and they can purchase items with their treasure. Battle mode allows you and your friends to battle each other.<br><br>Gauntlet IV is viewed from overhead with levels that are set up like mazes. Maneuver your character to the exit of each level by destroying monsters and unlocking doors. Monsters include: ghosts, grunts, demons, sorcerers, lobbers, death, and thieves.<br><br>Select from one of the four classic characters: Thor the warrior, Thyra the Valkyrie, Merlin the Wizard, and Questor the elf. Gauntlet IV is packed full of action with more than 90 levels in arcade mode, a large adventure in quest mode, and eight difficulty settings.

A Classic
A fun and classic game. Sega did a decent job having Gauntlet to the Genesis. It's a game to play with a friend because it's very difficult. You'll find yourself coming up with defend strategies with the waves of enemies. If you have an 4 player adapter makes the game a lot of fun. Before the days of Bluetooth. And with 90 plus levels, make sure you got lots of chips and pop to get you thru. LOLOL

Come for the gauntlet, stay for the music.
A fantastic port of the arcade with tons of extra gameplay options. With one of the best damn soundtracks released on the genesis. Hitoshi Sakimoto can compose music in ways I didn’t think possible for that system.
