Honor, courage, glory, no fear of death ... these are the prerequisites to being in General Chang's elite academy for prospective Klingon ship commanders. If you prove to him that you possess these characteristics as well as the ability to make quick decisions and push your limits, maybe, just maybe, you will be allowed to join his attack fleet against the Federation!<br><br>Using a "bridge captain" perspective, you participate in some simulator missions and then real encounters with many variations of enemy ships, mainly Federation vessels. As the ship's captain, you command every station on the ship at a whim. You have access to weapons, engineering, security, communications, helm and just about everything else. Also, if you wish to pursue more of the fighting elements of the game and not worry about certain details, you can set macros that distribute power and regulate ship functions automatically.<br><br>Forty new ships await destruction because they have either betrayed or are enemies of the Klingon empire. Races in the game include those of the Federation, Romulan, Tholian, Gorin and Sha' Kurian, a new race in the Star Trek universe. Each of the ships has detailed schematics and weapon systems as well as new technologies like the Tholian power-web.<br><br>Battles take place in a range of areas such as the corona of a star where things really start to get hot! Perhaps you'll use the cover of a planet to elude your enemies or maybe use a black hole for cover and have to deal with its insane physics and gravity. And should you enter an asteroid belt, you'll learn the true meaning of rock and roll! When battling in these areas, you'll see the glory of your weapons tearing through an enemy ship. You can rip off the hull or hit the warp-drive causing plasma to leak heavily from the ship's aft region.<br><br>Since the story is a continuation of that from the movie Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, you'll see Christopher Plummer reprise his roll as General Chang and David Warner as Chancellor Gorkon. Also, catch the cameo voiceover by the most famous of all Klingons, Michael Dorn, but not as Worf!<br><br>In Star Trek: Klingon Academy, the fate of the empire depends on brave warriors such as you, so make it proud and die with honor!Product Identifiers

Warning about shipping. The CD sleeve doesn't hold the CDs very well, and they may escape during shipping. Also, the game requires older hardware, or work-arounds and patches to get running on more modern systems. Otherwise this is a classic Star Trek game. One of the better story arcs in the Star Trek franchise. The gameplay is also still rather unique, which makes it worth the effort to get running. The physics were designed to give the ships momentum, and controls that may have you fighting the ship in more hectic battles. This gives the ships in the game a feeling of being massive cruisers, and not small fighters. The targeting systems qualify as a console-esq aim-assist, which requires some piloting skill beyond monitoring the status of shield facings. A Games that bring back memories,.^^y
This game bring backs lots of memories,.Sadly Star Trek games can never live up to space combat like this anymore. Pretty much like MS Gundam games,developers barely try anymore. This stuff was pretty much original quality @ best. Beside the kinks and bugs. The demo was more graphical than the release product, but there is a history behind the reason why ST:KA became what it is. The Demo have its own short campaign story where you take the Light Crusier and fight romulan and then gorn.
