It's a good version but pretty old (1970's?) and filmed in "live theatre" style, not Technicolor/movie quality, which I don't mind but it's just older
It's a good version but pretty old (1970's?) and filmed in "live theatre" style, not Technicolor/movie quality, which I don't mind but it's just older lower-budget BBC not the newer sort of production. Still, it's worth watching, Trevor Peacock is electric as "Quilp" and all the other acting is solid. I saw a lot of recommendations for the 1995 Peter Ustinov/Tom Courtenay version so I'm getting that too.
