a disaster movie disaster
I love disaster movies. but...too much "tech talk"..I almost thought I was watching a computer tech movie not a weather disaster movie. The voice volume was not very crisp and I had my TV set on Clear voice. yes the Weather scenes were Cool, but not LONG enough! needed More. the same "theme" music played throughout ... became redundant. It seemed as if they were trying very hard to also include a sub - political - and ethnic - moral lines in the story, which I hear enough about on the TV NEWS, I don't want to see it in an entertaining movie. When the final plot came clear, it was an interesting scenario. The sets looked good. so needed better Music, More Weather Action, Improved Sound, it was pretty A-typical you knew what was going to happen next, there were no big surprises, but I did appreciate the okay language and no nudity, or too much "blood"... A decent disaster flick
As a disaster flick junkies, we are willing to suspend some disbelief for a good story and this flick mainly delivers on that note. Butler is enjoyable as the science lead, and the premise of a weather control system - out of control is especially believable with all the security issues for software nearly everywhere. Good special effects are present...(especially for space scenes). The Hollywood pre-disposition that the federal government is always the "bad guy" is getting more than a bit time worn, especially since the real political parties have been basically gridlocked for decades.
