Great so long as it keeps working
This piece of kit is outstanding, so long as it works, and so long as it keeps working. There is a notorious quality problem whereby it may not power up, at which point there are solutions apparently rectify but they're not something to look forward to. However, so long as this does not happen, then the unit is wonderful. I use 5 bays for HDDs in BTRFS raid, and 3 for SSD cache. In this configuration the cache ensures speed in both data transfer and in waking from idle. The chassis is really well built. The standard 2 GB can be upgraded to 6 GB officially but I use 8 GB and I'm pretty sure it's all employed. Like I've said it supports BTRFS Synology Hybrid Raid and be careful, some models don't. USB ports for both expansion and UPS support. 4 gigabit ethernet connections so that multiple users do not have to share connection capacity. Built-in power supply so no ugly bricks cluttering up the environment. No tools required for HDDs. SSDs need to be screwed into the trays before sliding them in in the usual way. Can be expanded with 2 connections for external 5-bay slave units although I don't really see the point when the units themselves are reasonably priced. Supports DSM 7 and comes with the usual 2 free surveillance camera licences, which is another reason to buy another rather than expand.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht
