A very nice starting platform at a rediculously low price.
This is a very nice 335 style guitar along the lines of Epiphone quality. The guitar paint job is very good and the guitar is well made and is well finished, the neck is just right for this type of guitar. The nut is bone and cut nicely. The frets are a bit sharp especially above the 12th fret. The pickups are very microphonic and a bit too hot for this type of a semi hollow body guitar. They are alright at bedroom level but squeal above that. I've already changed them out. The pots are small but very smooth with audio taper and are ok unless you will give them a lot of use. The tuners were not all that great, but adequate. I've already changed them out with real Grover roto-matics. The originals are cheaper ones with buttons to make them look like Grovers. The pick guard is a bit flimsy but adequate. The setup is a bit high and the truss rod needed a slight adjustment. I'ts not my intention to slam this guitar but to tell it like it is. All in all with a few mods that you can do at your own pace this is a fantastic guitar for the money. It now sounds great, plays great and plays as good as a Gibson 335 for around 3 bills. The guitar is great for the price. I’ve upgraded the hardware and plays easily as well as my epiphone 335. Made some adjustments and am very happy it. Nice price, but a gamble for sure.
Acceptable build quality. Terrible Quality control and set up. My guitar had two nut grooves cut deeper than the first fret and wasn't playable until I replaced the nut. Frets uneven. Value in your pocket.
As like all Firefly's the strings will need changing and the fret board needs a finished it is about 95% on the fret work It is playable out of the box but this few touch ups and check any pic guard screws for proper seating. Amazing guitar!
