Works. Saves money and trouble.
I bought this unit because I have three Toyota/Lexus vehicles with tire pressure warning lights on. So that's 15 sensors. New, genuine Toyota sensors are down to $10 each on eBay so I bought some. Went to two tire stores to order new tires, both said they couldn't use those OEM sensors..buy ours instead ..you get the picture, more $$ for them, can't blame them.. So I figured this unit would pay for itself (if it worked) and it does work, great. The software isn't perfect but if you take your time, download the manual and read it, you'll get there. I had to school up on this sensor stuff and here's the short version. There are two ways to go with the sensors. You either program the car to match the sensors or program the sensors to match the car. The Autel unit can do both, mostly. I found it couldn't reprogram my new OEM sensors to match the car (Lexus) so I used the OBD re-learn procedure in the Autel unit to teach the car the new OEM sensor IDs after they were installed and that worked great - easy and fast. So I'm very happy with the unit. I recommend the OEM sensors vs. the Autel MX type - they're cheaper and the old ones lasted a very long time for me. Works like a charm.
It does what it's supposed to do. On two occasions I used the tool to ID unknown sensors and then relearn the vehicle's ECM to accept them. I was looking for TPMS that could read the sensor IDs already installed in my tires and then write them to my ECM in my 2009 Toyota RAV4. This device did the trick and was super easy to use. The tS508wf works great along with the “Autel MX-1Sensor 433mhz/315MHZ Programmable Sensors
This tool works great. I love the “Autel MX-1Sensor 433mhz/315MHZ 2 In 1 Programmable Universal TPMS Sensor”. They work well and saves a ton of time. Great product, Great Price, Fast shipping.
Great product! Once i got it registered and updated, the rest was easy. I now have the sensors here for the vehicles and just need to get them put in and update to vehicle. Works great and covers all aspects. Hey, i am not that computer or electronic literate being in my 60's, but i figured out without a lot of trouble. I bought this because I had a tire repair center try to scam me into buying all new sensors. When I took the car in they told me they couldn't get the TPMS light to go out because all the sensors had batteries that had died. Mind you, when I took it in the system was working and the light was on because two of the tires were leaking. I later found a sensor under my front seat. The Autel MaxiTPMS TS508WF TPMS tool is well made and did the job as advertised. I was able to register new OE sensors to the ECU in my 2014 Toyota Prius. The tool read the new sensors very quickly.
