Great box set, classic!
I grew up watching this offering from gerry and sylvia Anderson. Back then there was only black and white TV. 405 or 625 lines. So this program was the highlight of my week. Great programs but you could see the strings now and again. Oh! the Nostalgia a truly great box set. I have now got Joe 90, Stingray, Captain Scarlet, I just need to get fireball xl5. How sad am I.

A real trip down memory lane for my generation!
This is a trip down memory lane for me! I grew up with the original Thunderbirds watching every episode through my childhood (plus Fireball XL5 and Stingray before and Captain Scarlet and Joe 90 after!) The new model/cgi tv series is ok but not a patch on the original (the characters are far more mature than the modern ones for a start) Gerry Anderson was the absolute king of the miniature explosion and special effects and not a computer in sight!

Thoroughly recommended
Excellent production quality, apart from the irritatingly slow interface when you just want it to start playing. It really shows what a revolutionary standard Gerry Anderson achieved with Thunderbirds, a small independent company did this when the BBC was blurred black and white and slow and had actors who just shouted their parts. The puppets ACT, the special effects are awesome, the incidents of great seriousness, the photography sharp and bright, the music is astonishing (Barry Gray was a genius!), and it's all lavished on a children's television series from 1964/5. It far exceeds modern standards of children's television. Lots of interesting extras too.

THUNDERBIRDS brilliant, and so is FIREBALL XL5/CAPTAIN SCARLET AND THE MYSTERONS, I have these box sets from GERRY ANDERSON as well, well worth buying
this box set of the original THUNDERBIRDS is still so well made and a time when kids did not have mobile phones and it was a much happier time, no CGI like most films of today, highly recommend this box set and at a fantastic price, HMV you would pay much more for item, time for HMV to close shop, and buy online,

Wonderful to see this again love it!
I was delighted to get this box set it is fascinating looking at the puppets and I love Lady Penelope and Parker. Very happy with my purchase and got it for a great price.

Just as I remembered and loved the series. My grandchildren love it too. Being able to get all those wonderful episodes in one set is priceless. I must admit thought - there seemed to be more when I was a kid, but probably it was just all those repeats!!!!! Can’t get enough A1+

The attention to detail is amazing - you just don't get great programmes made like this unless it's a huge budget film. This was awesome in it's day and entertained all children, and now many decades later it still entertains adults and children alike.

It's better in 4:3 looks good
I've got the blu ray of Thunderbirds but i don't like the cropping, ie making it wide scren 16:9 and so chopping the top of their heads off, so i wanted the 4:3 version, the original version the way it was meant to be, the way it was filmed.

Very good value for money
To get the full series for the price is really good. My husband loves the old thunderbirds, so this was an ideal Christmas present, with many hours of viewing.
