  • Rough Times for Jamestowne Settlers.

Blood on the River was a great book. The author makes use of actual writings from 1607 and future dates. She uses words from Captain John Smith and other explorers of the time. This book was written on the level of young adult so that anyone may enjoy the content. Following Sam as he is working for Rev. Hunt and Captain Smith keeps the interest alive. Reading about James Towne is something many early American historians will enjoy.

  • Excellent History

This is a fictional novel based on historical facts. I found it extremely interesting. I purchased it because a friend of mine who teaches fourth grade, was buying them for her entire class. I decided to buy one myself and became so engrossed in it I could not put it down. And my daughter is reading it to her children. It makes you want to go to Jamestown Virginia and revisit it. I also purchased another similar book and I’m waiting for it to arrive.
