The 1933 film classic KING KONG formed the basis of a 1966 cartoon series that marked the first time Japanese animation was specifically created for American television. Produced by acclaimed animators Arthur Rankin, Jr., and Jules Bass (who pioneered stop-motion puppetry with their 1960s Christmas specials RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER and SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN), the cartoon fashioned a kindler, gentler version of the giant ape as he helped a scientist, Professor Bond, and his two children, Bobby and Susan, fight the world-domination plans of the evil Dr. Who on a remote tropical island. The series also featured a segment called TOM OF T.H.U.M.B. (Tiny Humans Underground Military Bureau), which chronicled the crime-fighting adventures of two four-inch-tall spies as they engaged in James Bond-style espionage. Fun and nostalgic, this second collection presents eight more half-hour episodes plus an extended-length pilot.

Great, perfect & marvelous.
The material is albsolute perfect, just like I saw it back in '66 and how I mostly remember it when I saw it again back in'78 or '79, this is pretty cool. All I would like to do is get some more of the episodes from this "66 series and I like the Tom of T.H.U.M.B. series, all of these episodes on both the King Kong & Tom of T.H.U.M.B. series are absolute perfect. Oh hey! I meant to tell you that my favorite character in the King Kong animated series is Susan Bond, I became so attached to the fine,pretty girl Sue, she's so fiiine,pretty,glamerous & strong tough and invulnereable person, Im glad she's taller than her little brother,Bobby and she just does anything that looks so graceful, in action,loving, intelligence,just all pretty femmenism, I've always liked that in a woman,girl, she looks good in her dark purple sweater or shirt.
