The always beautiful and impressive creature animations of the great Ray Harryhausen elevate the film above the level of ordinary 1950's monster sci-fi. The Ymir is one of the best-known creations in his long, distinguished career.IT CAME FROM BENEATH THE SEA: An atomic submarine cruising the Pacific discovers a gargantuan octopus concealed in the ocean depths. The alien race has completely surrounded the planet, giving Earth the sixty days to surrender. The enemy spacecraft appear indestructible, and Marvin sets out to find a weapon that can defeat them. Harryhausen movies
