Sony's invites gamers to create their own NBA legends in the "06" edition of its pro basketball game. The game's story mode follows players both on and off the court, to provide a first-hand perspective on the risks and rewards faced by celebrity athletes. Other features new to this year's edition involve the "Showtime Gameplay" system, designed to encourage players to balance individual abilities and teamwork, to win crowd support as they win games. By meeting certain in-game challenges, an individual player's abilities can be improved, and he'll begin to gain a fan following that grows with continued success. Gamers can take control of their favorite real-life player, or create an up-and-coming rookie that they can guide to superstardom through multiple seasons.
