Sega's AM3 division proudly presents Decathlete, a sports title that simulates a dream decathlon! Modes of play include: practice, Arcade, and decathlon.<br><br>Choose from one of eight multicultural characters, then try your hand at the ten events that make up the decathlon. Those events are: 100 meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump, hurdles, pole vault, javelin, discus, 400 meter dash, and 1500 meter run. Decathlete requires the careful timing of button presses and split-second reflexes with the action key; a fraction of a second could mean the difference between success and failure! There are four difficulty settings and a hall of fame where all of your records are kept.<br><br>Hop into your track suit, and get ready for the starting shot with Decathlete!

Surprisingly fun sports action game with replayability
Decathlete is from a time when Olympic-style games had traction and were sometimes compelling. It's quick, arcade fun but with surprising levels of replayability. Virtua Athlete 2K for the Dreamcast was arguably the sequel but there's just something about Decathlete that makes it cool, and have an attitude to the characters that, despite there being no storyline whatsoever and having a shallow competition (no tracking of opponent points), it just isn't the same. Decathlete is one of the games that showcases how well the Saturn could render sharp 3D images and textures, which helps make it be a "let me play that again" title in a library of lukewarm/what if/almost there games with one of the biggest - if not biggest of all - "what if" consoles of all time. DecAthlete is worth a play. It's a lot more fun than Winter Heat as well. You won't be disappointed, this is one of the Saturn's best 25-30 games.
