Lost, Yet Found...
I've seen the movie at least a half dozen times. And then I read Hilton's book, and then my wife read it. We do that frequently, where we both read the same book - it makes for a bond between us that can't be broken. In this case, as with all well-written stories, you wish it had continued on at least for one or two more chapters. In the movie, Conway gets back, but in the book you're left hanging, wishing, hoping he does. And we hope, too, that we will find our way back some day.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Finding Shangri-la
I bought the book after seeing both the 1937 and the 1973 movie versions of Lost Horizons. What makes the book more memorable than the movies are certain passages in the novel that pertain to what makes happiness and contentment. By reading the book, you come to realize that Shangri-la is not a location but more a place of the mind. And that what Shangri-la is differs from person to person. One of the conclusions about Shangri-la is that when you find your own Shangri-la you will not want to leave it.
