  • Mom likes it and says very interesting .

I read synopsis and it is intriging how society back then as well as now still sees beauty over brains and was glad to see that she was smart enough to escape as well as become an industry icon. It also goes to show when your smart and in a situation where you are privy to information ,but people just see a you as not a threat it's good to know when to jist listen ;). I will read after mom.

  • Made me wonder how much was imagined.

I have a problem with modern writers inserting themselves into someone's life who was a real person. The book, although interesting, made me wonder how much of it was imagined. I'm sure Hedy Lamarr was much documented, and I loved the part where she was inspired to do her research. So, do I recommend it? I'd give it a B.

  • A good read!

I haven't read it myself yet, but my cousin did and enjoyed it. She found it interesting to read all of this info about Heddy Lamarr which most of us had never heard before.

  • Title has many meanings as you will find once you dive into this historical fiction novel

Most Americans only know Hedy Lamarr as a beautiful Hollywood glamour gal from the black and while films she made once she immigrated from Austria to America. She actually had a wonderful scientific mind, held patents on several innovations and invented the foundation for which our modern communication system is built - cellular, WIFI, etc.

  • Skill, Dedication and Patriotism beyond compare

I am always impressed with the loyalty, skills and patriotism displayed displayed by those immigrating to the USA in the 20's and 30's in this case. Her dedication and skills and efforts to succeed are beyond compare. I was totally shocked to find out the name of this woman and have purposely not mentioned it. I am 81 years old and I was not able to put the book down until I read the last page.

  • An unexpected insight into a celebrity.

It was interesting to learn that the subject was much more than what appeared on the surface. What you saw was much less that what she was.

  • Good title for a strong woman.

I read this book for book club and the group liked it a lot. A friend of mine is now in a nursing home and likes books about World War 1 and 2. I gave her this book and she was thrilled.
