  • Excellent (when used as instructed)

I came across knowledge of Impossible earlier this year and was intrigued by the cult following that instant photography still has in today's digital world. As a teenager in the mid 2000s, I was a Polaroid enthusiast myself, almost to the point where I was literally the male version of the main character in the video game Life is Strange. The only thing that forced my hand into digital was when I left my camera on a bus and had it UPS'd back to me... in non-working condition. Fast forward to today - I rediscovered the hobby after receiving an old SX-70 SLR from my grandfather. I read reviews on Impossible's film and determined that there were mixed results, often dependent on the level of experience that the other reviewers had. I gave it a chance and bought the film... with mixed results. I was used to the 600, the one I had over 10 years ago, and the SX-70 was an entirely different camera (and film) to get the feel for. Because this is NOT exact to Polaroid, it will take some adaptation and getting used to before you develop habits that will result in excellent photos. I have found that the more I use it, the better I get at it. After purchasing another 600 from ebay, I began to give the 600 film a try. For the most part, it is exactly as I remembered... except that it takes longer to develop. Additionally, you MUST remember to shield it from light immediately after exposure, and place it in a dark place (Preferably face down somewhere). Try not to even peek at the picture for at least 30 minutes. The instructions and tips from Impossible were quite clear to me but let me summarize: 1. Get a feel for your camera. Oftentimes the problem is the camera's operator. When taking a photo, remain still, and try to make sure your subjects remain still as well. Otherwise, you will have a blurry picture (this was the case with Polaroid also... this isn't Impossible's fault. That's the nature of the beast). PATIENCE IS KEY to a beautiful photo! 2. Protect from the elements. Extreme temperatures (Hot and cold) are harmful to the film's chemistry. Keep unopened cartridges in the refrigerator. Keep your camera's lens and rollers clean. 3. Environment. Be mindful of lighting. Its better to have the light behind you rather than in front of you. If your camera does not have automatic flash, make sure there is adequate lighting. If you only see silhouettes in your viewfinder, your picture will be exactly like that, if not worse. Polaroid instant photos are a work of art, and it takes patience and vigilance to do it right. It is definitely not for the lazy or impatient. I have been thoroughly impressed with Impossible's efforts to keep this almost lost art alive, and I look forward to seeing what they do in the coming years. My only con is that I hope that the price comes down over time and that they can perfect the film chemistry enough to fit 10 photos in the cartridges. Until then, I am liking what I am seeing, and I hope others do as well.

  • Between a rock and a hard place...

Since Impossible is the only company left producing new Polaroid film it's hard to discredit the product enough to say "I'll never buy this product again." ... if you want Polaroid film this is your only option. It is extremely overpriced, the colors don't seem to develop as crisp as the originals did decades ago, and the pack is a quantity of 8 instead of the original 10. The latter was very inconvenient since the camera is intended to use a 10-pack of film (when the indicator reads 2 pictures left it is actually empty.) So, will I buy it again? Probably. Nothing beats the sound of a Polaroid picture processing as it exits the camera!

  • Expired but still good

The film was within a year of it's expiration date but the film was still great and the photos came out just as I remember. I'm not to fond of the prices for just 8 film. That's the only reason for the 4 stars. My camera was almost the same price as the film.

  • Good product but price cord out of my range

I thought I’d give the instant photo game a shot- it’s fun as I remember but the only thing is the price per picture - mistakes are costly and the camera is finicky anyways so you have to fight that aspect too. Bring the price down and I believe more people will enter and stay taking instant pictures

  • Good film- more faded than original

This film is nice. Photos take much longer than they used to and the colors are more faded. It’s great to be able to use Polaroid camera again though.

  • Film works

Simply follow instructions [store low heat, don't scratch film, keep upside down away from light at least 20 minutes.] Sure, this isn't the original Polaroid film - Polaroid stopped manufacturing their film 2008. However, it is worth it's price and it creates memories that other cameras on the market cannot. Brief: Don't wish for a Kodak moment, aim for an IMPOSSIBLE moment.
