Product Information

Richard Burton stars as Major John Smith, a British agent during WWII who is in charge a group of six Allied soldiers given the task of rescuing an American general--who is reportedly in possession of the plans for D-Day--from a seemingly impregnable German fortress located high in the Bavarian Alps. Assisting Smith is the sole American in the operative, Lieutenant Morris Schaffer (Clint Eastwood), a fierce soldier skilled with an array of deadly weapons. As the men penetrate the fortress, facing an endless supply of German soldiers, it becomes apparent that some members of the small Allied team may not be who them seem to be. Full of thrilling action set pieces, the screenplay was written by Alistair MacLean, adapted from his own best selling novel.

Great non stop action and special senary
I love war movies, the story line is great with intrigue and mystery, there is a great mixture of men and women characters who make the story more believable .It has that , who did it, sum up in the end . I love this film so much I have watched it 6 times. Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton are the bomb.

Excellent film
This has always been one of my favorite war films. But this was not my first purchase of this DVD Where Eagles Dare. This is a replacement DVD, because my first one was skipping and freezing, and I couldn't view it past a certain part.

Play on the objective's relative lofty site.
Good well- acted WWII movie about rescuing an American general. Clint Eastwood in one of his early movies where he is mostly action doing. He has a last memorable line stating the next time the British have a special job to keep the Americans out of it.

A good title for the movie
It's an older movie set in WW11 in Germany. The action is good, the characters are good the story line is also good. Being a writer it has shown me different ideals.

A unique title
We have watched this movie before and enjoyed it thoroughly but now have the option of watching it whenever we want.

Great WWII movie
Great movie! Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton have great chemistry and the plot is quite twisting and good. Too bad they don't make them like this anymore!
